I’m somewhat unexpectedly going to the annual ACFW conference this year, and I can’t wait. It’s been six years since my last ACFW conference, so I was really excited to see Laurie Tomlinson‘s mix and mingle post. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing those I’ve missed for so long. If you see me in St. Louis, please be sure to say hi and hand me your business card. 🙂

Name: Ashley Mays

Location: Colorado

What you write/tagline/trademark: Contemporary Young Adult Fiction/ Fiction to inspire young women toward strength, dignity, and laughter.

Place in the book world: Former editorial assistant for Focus on the Family’s Brio and Brio & Beyond magazines. Pre-published in fiction, represented by Rachel Kent of Books & Such Literary. I have two novels currently on submission.

On a scale of hugger to 10-foot-pole, please rate your personal space: If you’re a hugger, I’m a hugger. If you’re a hand-shaker, I’m a hand-shaker.

The unique talking point that will get you going for hours: Teen stuff. Summer camp. YA Fiction. North Carolina.

Loved ones at home you’ll be missing: My husband and our anti-social guinea pig named Charlee.

Conference goals we can pray for? Networking opportunities and lasting relationships.

Anything we can celebrate with you? I’m a Genesis finalist in the Young Adult category!

One or two ways we can help you build your platform? I’d love to be friends with you on Facebook!

I am passionate about mentoring younger women, particularly teen girls, so I blog a lot about relationships, maintaining good boundaries, and discovering God’s best for our lives. I would be super happy if you’d share my blog with the teen girls in your life (and everyone else is free to subscribe as well!).

Here’s Laurie’s post where you can find many other awesome people going to ACFW this year!
